Important Update Regarding Fusion FC and SGM Cancellation

To the SDU Community,

We want to bring your attention to an important update: Fusion FC has decided not to proceed with the proposed amalgamation with South Delta United. Their letter is attached below.

As a result, the Special General Meeting (SGM) scheduled for Monday, March 31st, has been cancelled.

While this outcome is disappointing, we want to thank our members for your patience, understanding, and incredible engagement throughout this process. We know it created some uncertainty, and we truly appreciate the thoughtfulness and care so many of you brought to conversations about the future of our club.

We’re incredibly grateful to the key volunteers and staff who dedicated significant time and effort, attended countless meetings and supported the financial, technical, and legal due diligence required to evaluate this opportunity correctly. We also appreciate those who helped communicate with our membership and keep everyone as informed as possible during a fast-moving and complex process.

Although the formal amalgamation won’t proceed, our connection with Fusion doesn’t end here. We’ll continue working together this spring, including hosting Fusion teams as part of the Cascadia League. We’re also welcoming Fusion players and coaches into our community where space allows—another step toward strengthening the soccer experience for all kids in our region.

Looking ahead, SDU remains fully committed to our goals of growth and development. We will continue to strengthen our programs, pursue higher levels of play, and work towards BCSPL pathway for our players.
