Becoming a referee is an exciting way to stay involved in soccer while gaining valuable life skills. South Delta United provides everything you need to get starting, from coaching to mentorship, ensuring your success as an official. Whether you’re interested in officiating younger age groups or stepping into full-field matches, we have a path for you!

Small Sided Referee Course: This is the basics of refereeing and is open to individuals aged 12 and 13. After successfully completing this clinic, you’ll be classified as a Small Sided Referee and can officiate matches for players between U-6 and U-12. It’s a perfect way to get started in refereeing and build confidence on the field!

Entry Level Referee Course: If you’re ready to referee 11-a-side soccer, this is the clinic for you. After passing this course, you'll be classified either as a Youth Referee (ages 14-15) or a District Referee (ages 16 and up). You’ll be eligible to officiate full-sided matches, giving you a deeper involvement in the sport.

Once certified, referee candidates will join the South Delta United referee family, organized by Dylan Acheson. Details about the pay scale and other relevant information will be provided by the heads of referees upon completion of certification.
