VOLUNTEER

get involved with south delta united

Running a soccer club for approximately 1300 kids is a rewarding challenge, and we truly need your help to make it a success! The South Delta United Soccer Club relies on our amazing volunteers to ensure the smooth operation of the club, reduce fees, and provide our children with a positive and enriching experience.

Why Volunteer?

We believe that many hands make light work, and we encourage every family to get involved in some way. Your contribution, no matter how big or small, makes a significant impact on our success. Volunteering is a great way to connect with your community, support our young athletes, and create lasting memories.  There are opportunities to volunteer for the whole family.

How You Can Help

There are numerous opportunities, both longer and short term.  Below are some of the ways in which you can help!

Key Volunteer Roles (Season long)

  • Coaching: This includes both lead and assistant coaches. In the early years, you don’t need a strong soccer background—just the ability to keep kids engaged and having fun. (Click here to learn more about being a coach or assistant coach.)

  • Team Managers: Team managers help with organization and team communication. They also encourage team spirit by organizing team-building, activities both on and off the field. Snacks are always a hit.

  • Volunteer Management: Help coordinate and support volunteers, ensuring that all roles are filled and that volunteers feel appreciated and engaged.

  • Committee Members: Join a committee to help with various aspects of the club, including: Communications, Finance, Diversity & Inclusion, Events & Sponsorship

Flexible/Short term Opportunities

  • Event Assistance: Assist at events with setup, food and beverage service, and more. These roles are perfect for families looking to get involved together!

  • Field Setup: Help prepare fields by lining them, putting nets together, and ensuring everything is ready for play.

  • Equipment Organization and Handout: Assist with organizing and distributing equipment to teams. This role is essential for ensuring players have the gear they need to succeed.

  • Concessions: Work at our concession stands during games and events, helping to create a fun atmosphere while providing snacks and refreshments.

  • And More!: There are always additional roles and opportunities that may arise throughout the season.
